Charles “Chip” Royston

Charles (Chip) Royston has dedicated over two decades to educating and inspiring students at CSUF, where he has taught more than 21 different courses in anthropology and human services. With a strong foundation in curricular design and delivery, Chip's expertise spans group therapy, mental health, culture, religion/spirituality, and leadership. His innovative approach to teaching has made him a beloved and influential figure in the academic community.  

Beyond his academic career, Chip has made significant contributions as a freelance consultant and public speaker. He has served as the Master of Ceremonies for three TEDx events and the GoldenWest College Peace Conference, bringing a dynamic presence and insightful commentary to these prestigious gatherings. Chip is also an experienced facilitator, having led encounter groups on critical topics such as racism, spirituality, and personal development. His passion for fostering dialogue and understanding is further exemplified by his five-year tenure hosting a documentary screening club at the Center for Living Peace in Irvine. Additionally, Chip shares his insights on spirituality through his popular podcast, Source Wheel.  

Chip cherishes his role as a family man, enjoying life with his wife of 15 years and their three daughters. His hobbies include crystals and minerals, wand making, tabletop roleplaying games, and getting to know his neighborhood trees.
