Encompass Housing Receives $100,000 Wellness Fund Grant for San Bernardino Campus Project

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

San Bernardino, CA, May 3, 2024 – Encompass Housing is thrilled to announce that we have been selected as the recipient of $100,000 Wellness Fund grant from Uplift San Bernardino at the Making Hope Happen Foundation. This generous grant will provide a significant boost to our San Bernardino Campus project, allowing us to make substantial progress towards our goal of creating supportive communities and increasing housing opportunities for all residents in the community.

The Wellness Fund, made possible by the generous support of Kaiser Permanente, aims to award transformative projects that positively impact the lives of those in need. We are honored to be chosen as one of the recipients of this grant, which aligns with our mission to provide sustainable support and resources to unhoused individuals and families.

What sets our project apart is not only its innovative approach but also the overwhelming support it has received from the community. As part of the application process, the community was invited to vote for their preferred projects, and we are proud to announce that our project received the most votes. This resounding endorsement confirms that that the community is supportive and excited about our project proposal.

The $100,000 grant will specifically fund our San Bernardino Project, a multi-service campus that combines Recuperative Care, where individuals can rest and heal for up to 90 days, and housing for seniors and families with children who will also receive a variety of supportive services. This innovative campus will be constructed using LifeArk modules, a prefabricated, modular building system that can create self-sustaining communities on both water and land.

The Wellness Fund welcomes applications from organizations pursuing sustainable transitional, emergency, permanent supportive, co-op, and other housing projects aimed at providing shelter for unhoused individuals and families in San Bernardino. This grant opportunity underscores the commitment of Uplift San Bernardino, Kaiser Permanente, and the community of San Bernardino to address homelessness and create inclusive communities.

We are grateful for the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need in the San Bernardino Community, and we extend our sincerest thanks to Uplift San Bernardino, Kaiser Permanente, and the community for their support and belief in our mission.
